Andrea Austin is from Vinton, Iowa. She completed medical school at University of Iowa and residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. She is an emergency physician and simulation educator at University of San Diego California. Previously, she was Simulation Director at Navy Trauma Training Center at LA County+ USC. She is a Veteran and deployed to Iraq as an emergency physician in 2016. Her academic interests include simulation, veterans’ health, firearm injury prevention and gender equity. She is a member of the American Association of Women Emergency Physicians (AAWEP).
