Dr. Demis Lipe is an emergency physician serving in the United States Army. She was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the United States when she was 10 years old. She received her BA from Rutgers University, her Master of Science in Chemical Biology from Stevens Institute of Technology and worked several years as a scientist with Hoffman-La Roche Pharmaceuticals before entering medical school. She completed her medical training from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Currently Rutgers-NJMS) and went on to complete her residency training in Fort Hood, Texas in 2014. She is currently stationed in Fort Benning, GA, where she is a full time attending physician and mom to a 3 year old boy and 1.5 year old girl. Professional interests include scientific writing and simulation along with women leadership and gendered stereotypes
