Luz graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her emergency medicine residency at University of California San Francisco/Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. She previously practiced at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington DC, where she was the physician director of the simulation program, initiated an IV-contrast-only CT protocol, and was a regular guest speaker at DC Fire and EMS grand rounds. She concurrently served as volunteer faculty at Johns Hopkins University, working primarily on medical student airway education. Currently, she is an attending physician at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center and attending physician and clerkship director at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in the San Jose/Santa Clara area. She serves as an orthopedic content editor for Dynamed, contributes to Academic Life in Emergency medicine, and has been a guest speaker on EMRAP and ERCAST. Her areas of particular interest and expertise are: orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, infectious disease, and emergency psychiatry.
