Congratulations to Dr. Emily McLendon for receiving the 2017 EMRA Emergency Department Directors Academy (EDDA) Scholarship!  This scholarship provides opportunities for resident leaders and future leaders to attend the Emergency Department Directors Academy. Attendance will help those residents develop leadership skills that will advance their careers, their local emergency departments, and the specialty of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. McLendon hails from NUC, having grown up in Manhattan. She attended Cornell University for undergraduate studies, majoring in Italian Studies.  From there, she went to Stony Brook for medical school and then matched at the University of Massachusetts for residency. She was chief resident before staying for a two year administration fellowship.  She is currently a second year fellow, and as part of the fellowship, she is earning an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her interests in within Emergency Medicine are specifically in quality/process improvement and Lean management.  She is also interested in physician engagement and wellness.
