Congratulations to Dr. Kerstin de Wit on earning a 2018 Canadian Institutes of Health Research Grant! She will be using this grant to derive a clinical decision rule for head CT in elderly emergencies patients who present after a fall.
Dr. Kerstin de Wit trained in emergency and internal medicine in the UK. She completed a research doctorate in Manchester, where she conducted her first emergency medicine research. After completing her post doctorate research fellowship, she moved to Ottawa to train in thrombosis medicine. She is now an Assistant professor at McMaster University and works clinically as both a thrombosis and emergency physician. She holds a PSI Knowledge Translation fellowship 2017-2020.
