The Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors (CORD) Board of Directors announced Dr. Lauren Bland as the first ever resident member of the Board at the CORD Academic Assembly this March!

Dr. Bland is a first-year resident at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She has significant interest in the issues of resident wellness and resilience. Her primary goal this year is to ensure that these issues are a top priority for CORD and to coordinate with other organizations serving emergency medicine residents in order to advocate for resident wellness effectively and collaboratively.

Dr. Bland has demonstrated significant interest in education and educational leadership. She graduated from the South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa Florida where she was a member of their Emergency Medicine interest group and served in leadership as Secretary and was actively involved in USF’s Wellness Council where she acted as Co-Chair of the Nutrition committee. As an undergraduate at the University of Arkansas, she was a teaching assistant for general and organic chemistry and developed a small group curriculum.
