Congratulations to Dr. Mary McLean for receiving the AWAEM Resident Award and Travel Grant!  This scholarship honors female EM residents who have shown promise for significant career achievements in emergency medicine through research, education, service, advocacy, or administration.

Dr. McLean is a was Chief Resident at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in New York, and an ALL NYC EM Resident Education Fellow when she received this award and since has become an assistant residency director at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She served as Chair of the NY ACEP EM Residents Committee, is the Principal Investigator for the Physician Weight Bias project, and Investigator for the Slack Intern Curriculum collaboration. She aspires to have a long career dedicated to medical education. Outside of work, she enjoys pets, crime documentaries, being a foodie, and walking in New York City with her husband.
