Congratulations to Dr. Mobola Kukoyi for receiving the 2017 AWAEM SAEM Travel Scholarship!  The AWAEM Resident Travel Scholarship is designed to expose residents interested in issues related to the advancement of women in Academic Emergency Medicine to travel to SAEM. Selection of the awardees will be based on academic merit, demonstrated interest in issues related to the advancement of women in academic emergency medicine, and future potential as a representative of AWAEM.

Dr. Kukoyi is a second year resident at the University of Chicago. She obtained her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, and a master of public health degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

She has an interest in the intersection of medicine and public health services, and has worked on several national and global projects, including areas such as HIV/AIDS and sepsis research.  She is also interested in capacity building and improving health care delivery to underserved populations. Her long-term goal is to have a hybrid career, where she can leverage her medical knowledge and skills to effect change in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
