Congratulations to Dr. Shehni Nadeem for receiving the 2016 EMRA Augustine D’Orta Award!  This award honors a resident physician who demonstrates outstanding community-minded, grassroots-oriented political involvement in health policy or community issues.

Dr. Nadeem graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 2016 and is a current Emergency Medicine Resident at Baylor College.  She has been described as exceptional in her drive and proactive nature.  This is more than evident in her long list of community outreach and advocacy projects, as well as the numerous awards she has received recognizing her outstanding leadership and public service.  She has held leadership positions with the Texas College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Emergency Physicians, and Harris County Medical Society.

Dr. Nadeem’s dedication to service and raising awareness of critical issues in health care and the community have earned her recognition with the EMRA Alexandra Greene Award, TCEP Service Award, Health Corps Leadership and Service Award, and the Baylor College of Medicine Student Leadership in Community Service Award.
