Congratulations to Dr. Shehni Nadeem for winning the EMRA Leadership and Advocacy Conference Travel Scholarship!

Dr. Nadeem graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 2016 and is a current Emergency Medicine Resident at Baylor College.  She has been described as exceptional in her drive and proactive nature.  This is more than evident in her long list of community outreach and advocacy projects, as well as the numerous awards she has received recognizing her outstanding leadership and public service.

Her interest in health policy and community service has led her to conduct research about children’s health insurance programs, to champion CPR training for over 4,000 community members, to create education programs for families of newborns, to improve her hospital’s discharge process, and to mentor pre-medical students of various socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds to reduce the gap in access to higher medical education.

The EMRA Leadership and Advocacy Conference Travel Scholarship is given to assist a resident member of EMRA in the costs associated with attendance of the ACEP Leadership & Advocacy Conference.  Dr. Nadeem has demonstrated a clear passion for leadership and advocacy and is highly deserving of this award.

Congratulations Dr. Nadeem!
