Congratulations to Hannah Gordon for receiving the EMRA Leadership and Advocacy Conference Travel Scholarship! ACEP’s annual Leadership and Advocacy Conference gives students and residents the opportunity to hone their leadership skills, stay current on legislative and regulatory issues, and meet with members of Congress to discuss the issues impacting emergency medicine.

Ms. Gordon is from Miami, Florida.  She is a third-year medical student at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine where she recently became a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.  She graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a B.A in Global Health Policy & International Development and received a Master of Public Health at Claremont Graduate University.  She serves as a the Southeast Representative II for EMRA’s Medical Student Council and the Co-Chair of the Medical Student Council for the Florida College of Emergency Medicine (FCEP).  She is the current Medical Student Liaison of the Editorial Advisory Committee for EMPulse.  She was instrumental in organizing medical student involvement in EMDays, a process for lobbying the Florida Legislature, establishing a Medical Student Advocacy Coordinator for FCEP, and creating the Medical Student Council for Georgia’s emergency medicine-bound medical students.
