The Departments of Emergency Medicine at Northwest Medical Center and Westside Regional Medical Center, is establishing a new allopathic Emergency Medicine Residency Program, with an estimated start date of July 1, 2022.We are currently seeking a Residency Program Director, to lead in the development and implementation of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program to be based between Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, FL and Northwest Medical Center in Margate, FL. The Program Director of the Emergency Medicine is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and the general administration of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the Emergency Medicine residency program.

The Program Director is expected to integrate the Emergency Medicine residency program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for graduate medical education. The Program is targeting 12-15 Residents per year, with the First class of PGY1 residents starting July 1, 2022. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated leader to have input on building a program from the ground up. Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor will be commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments

Qualified Candidates:

Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Core Faculty member in an ACGME –accredited Emergency Medicine program
Must be clinically active in Emergency Medicine
Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
Have previous leadership / administrative experience
Be willing to combine Administrative and Diagnostic (teaching) Responsibilities (50/50)
Have strong administrative and team building skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities will include:

Authority and accountability for the operation of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program
Development of curriculum, policies, and procedures for the program
Obtain and maintain ACGME accreditation and state approval
Recruiting residents into the program and developing evaluation process for their performance
Participation in competency evaluation of residents
Additional responsibilities to ensure programs success
Candidates with recent scholarly activity such as peer reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees or educations organizations highly encouraged to apply.
