The University of Chicago’s Department of Pediatrics, Section of Emergency Medicine, seeks faculty. Duties include patient care and teaching of medical students and pediatric and emergency medicine housestaff.

The Pediatric Emergency Department, the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center on the south side of Chicago, treats more than 35,000 patients a year. It is a newly renovated free-standing state-of-the-art facility with 22 general exam rooms, two procedure rooms, two triage rooms and two trauma/resuscitation rooms.

Prior to the start of employment applicants must 1) have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent; 2) hold or be eligible for Illinois medical licensure; and 3) be able to demonstrate excellent clinical and medical education teaching skills. Applicants who are BC/BE in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or who have completed combined Pediatrics/Emergency Medicine training are preferred.
