Dr Michelle Johnston has worked as a consultant at Royal Perth Hospital, a level one trauma centre, since 2001. She is committed to clinical care and teaching, and was awarded the Australasian College For Emergency Medicine’s Teaching Excellence Award. She is also a novelist, with her first book, Dustfall, released in February of 2018 – a story about medical error and its consequences. She self describes as being heinously bad at going to meetings. She has dedicated her career to finding the sweet spot between creativity and critical care, and believes there is a beating heart of humanity within the sometimes brutal world of emergency medicine.

Dustfall is available for purchase online.
