In todays pod Dara is joined by Lauren Smith Brody, author the book, The Fifth Trimester: The Working Mothers Guide to Style, Sanity and Big Success after Baby.  They discuss the economic case for supporting new parents through a babies 4th – 6th month of life- an extremely vulnerable time in a new parents career. They discuss the data (30% of working moms leave the workforce in the first year), the emotions (“guilt” is a 4 letter word) and some solutions (return to work scheduling for new parents is smart and economically sound).
