Bio

Dr. Farmer graduated from Western Carolina University Honors College with a B.S. in Biology in 2000. She then went on to East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine to obtain her M.D. and graduated in 2004. She pursued an emergency medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from 2004-2007. Following this, she worked as a toxicology fellow at NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center/New York City Poison Control Center until 2009. She completed the AHA-NPSF's Comprehensive Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship in 2012-2013 and the Weill-Cornell Healthcare Leadership Fellowship 2015-2016. She currently works at the Weill-Cornell Medical Center/NY Presbyterian Hospital as an attending physician and has served as Assistant Residency Director at NY Presbyterian Hospital's Emergency Medicine Residency since 2012. Additionally, she has served as NYP/Weill-Cornell Medical Center's Emergency Department Director of Patient Safety since 2013.
