Heike is the Head of Emergency Medicine at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa.
She is the immediate past President of the African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM) and is the current President of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa and a Director of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
