Bio

Dr. Randell is an attending physician in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Children's Mercy Kansas City and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Her research and advocacy focus on using a strengths-based approach to promote healthy adolescent relationships and mitigating the negative impacts of adolescent relationship abuse, including reproductive coercion, and sexual exploitation. Additionally, her work addresses healthcare-based interventions to address intimate partner violence (IPV). Her research has been funded by the NICHD and CDC. She is Abstract Chair for the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention and on the planning committee for the AAP Trauma-Informed Pediatrician Course. She has served as Co-Chair of the Children's Mercy Council on Violence Prevention and IPV Work Group, directing IPV programs hospital-wide. She is an experienced speaker, delivering traditional didactic lectures as well as interactive workshops.
