Advocacy in Emergency Medicine: Impacting Change in our Communities

Dr. Daphne Owen is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she serves as the Assistant Medical Director of Puentes de Salud, a nonprofit clinic which provides healthcare services for uninsured immigrants in Philadelphia.  

In her FIX19 talk, Dr. Owen focuses on the impact we can have outside the walls of the ED, and implores us, as medical professionals, to use our power within our communities to be advocates for vulnerable populations and make positive change for our communities.
