Dr. Dara Kass is a nationally recognized emergency medicine physician, public health leader, and tireless advocate for equity and healthcare reform. A proud Brooklyn native, she brings her passion for service and justice to every aspect of her work. Dr. Kass served as a Biden Administration appointee at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where she played a key role in shaping federal health policy, particularly around pandemic response, reproductive healthcare, and organ donation reform. Currently practicing at St. Francis Medical Center in Hartford, CT, Dr. Kass continues to provide frontline care while influencing systemic change. She is the founder of FemInEM, a groundbreaking platform focused on advancing gender equity in emergency medicine and supporting women physicians through community-building, education, and advocacy. Dr. Kass’s advocacy is deeply personal—after donating a portion of her liver to her youngest son, she became a leading voice for organ donation awareness and reform. Her work spans media, public speaking, and policy advising, all aimed at making healthcare more accessible, inclusive, and just. She is especially committed to expanding access to reproductive healthcare, elevating diverse voices in medicine, and empowering communities through education and outreach. A mother of three, Dr. Kass exemplifies the intersection of compassion, resilience, and leadership, using her experience as a clinician, parent, and advocate to drive meaningful change in healthcare and beyond.
