Dr. Priya Arumuganathan is a Global Emergency Medicine Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and an Instructor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Penn Perelman School of Medicine. She serves as the Course Director for the Medical Student Botswana Rotation SIM Training at Perelman, is an Associate Scholar at the Penn Center for Global Health, and represents her peers as the Fellow Representative for the Global Emergency Medicine Fellowship Consortium (GEMFC). Dr. Arumuganathan completed her medical degree and residency at West Virginia University, with a focus on global health and working in under-resourced environments. She served as a chief resident during her training. On a more personal note, she is the daughter of immigrant parents who were displaced by the Sri Lankan Civil War. Her family’s history sparked her interest in global health. Dr. Arumuganathan’s work focuses on developing emergency medicine curricula and emergency care capacity to advance global emergency care and promote health equity.
