Dr. Torree McGowan, MD, FACEP is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on disaster preparedness, mass casualty management, leadership, and patient safety. A graduate of Oregon Health & Science University, she completed her emergency medicine residency with the U.S. Air Force and served for 27 years in both active duty and reserve components. A combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, she retired with the rank of Colonel and continues to bring her frontline experience to civilian healthcare. Dr. McGowan currently practices at St. Charles Medical Group in Central Oregon and serves on national committees for the American College of Emergency Physicians, contributing her expertise to national preparedness and emergency response efforts. An invited lecturer at ACEP’s Scientific Assembly and one of the inaugural speakers at the FeminEM Idea Exchange, Dr. McGowan has presented to national audiences for over five years. Her talks reflect the breadth of her experiences—from military deployment and disaster response to the personal insights of life with a stay-at-home husband—bringing both gravitas and humor to the stage.
