Dr. Totten holds a Master of Science in Research Design from the University of Michigan and has served as a research director at two institutions, where they mentored residents across five medical disciplines, guiding them in scholarly work and publication. In addition to their leadership role in academia, she has been an active advocate for Women in Emergency Medicine (WEM), the Association of Academic Women Emergency Physicians (AAWEP), and the diversity and LGBTQ+ communities. With a deep commitment to social justice, Dr. Totten has spent several years working in the field of Domestic Violence and has developed a strong interest in International Medicine. Throughout their career, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving patient care, advancing medical research, and promoting diversity and equity within the healthcare system.
