DAILY SCHEDULE

DEDICATION

Dr. Lorna Breen was one of us. On April 26, 2020, she died by suicide. In a period of three weeks this spring, Lorna treated confirmed COVID patients, contracted COVID herself, and returned to an overwhelming, relentless number of incredibly sick patients.

In response to her death the The Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation was formed. The Foundation’s mission is to reduce burnout of health care professionals and safeguard their well-being and job satisfaction.

We envision a world where seeking mental health services is universally viewed as a sign of strength for health care professionals.

We will be dedicated our conference to our friend and colleague, Dr. Lorna Breen.

We also ask that you help us support her foundation.

What attendees have said about FIX

“FIX19 provided a great opportunity for women in EM to express their perspectives on the current healthcare climate. It offered a powerful vehicle for women’s voices to be heard.”

Chair of Emergency Medicine

“FIX was empowering and inspiring.  I am so proud to be part of a phenomenal group of women residents and faculty in our department.”

Associate Residency Program Director

“She believed she could, so she did.”

“The conference was an inspiring display of talented, brilliant women in EM. We will use our new insight to propose new policies to support pregnant residents/new parents, to engage our male colleagues in promoting gender equity within our emergency departments, and to continue to use our strengths to fight for the best patient care possible.”
