Congratulations to Dr. Mira Mamtani on earning the 2018 CORD/EMF Education Research Grant. Dr. Mira Mamtani received her MD at Stony Brook University in 2009 and completed her EM residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Mamtani has been the APD at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania since 2013 and recently completed a Masters in Medical Education at the Penn Graduate School of Education. Dr. Mamtani’s research and educational interests lie within optimizing the clinical learning environment: specifically how bias can affect resident physicians’ capacity to learn, clinical performance, and patient outcomes.
She is excited to work with a team of brilliant medical educators exploring “The Gender Gap” to both better understand gender disparities in feedback to EM trainees and to develop educational interventions to reduce this disparity.
