Congratulations to Dr. Racheal Gilmer for receiving the EMRA EDPMA Scholarship.  This scholarship provides an opportunity for resident leaders with an interest in the management and business issues involved in running a successful emergency medicine practice, to attend the Solutions Summit – the annual conference of the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA).  EDPMA is a trade association that serves emergency department physician groups, billing companies, and their business partners by providing them with advocacy, education, and networking opportunities.

Dr. Gilmer completed medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is a current chief resident in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago. She has a background in quality improvement and medical education, performing research in areas.  Her interest in administration is centered around creating cultural change, leadership, and motivating others. She recently accepted an Administrative Fellowship with California Emergency Physician in Oakland California. She plans to earn a master’s in business administration and pursue a career as a medical director or consultant. This scholarship will allow her to take the first step toward pursuit of these goals.
