Congratulations to Dr. Simiao Li for being selected for the McKinsey Women’s Leadership Challenge!

Dr. Li grew up near Chicago and received her undergraduate degree at Pomona College. While there she discovered a love of teaching and mentoring and took this passion with her to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  During medical school, she focused on research and advocacy for marginalized groups, including victims of intimate partner violence and child abuse.  Additionally, she earned a Masters in Clinical Research and first-authored research studies in JAMA Pediatrics and Journal of Interpersonal Violence

Dr Li is currently a third year EM resident at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center in Chicago.  She is working on building a career in medical education, including working as lead researcher in study evaluating the influence of gender on recommendation letters for applicants to emergency medicine residency. She was recently selected for the Medical Education Clinical Scholars Program at the Feinberg School of Medicine and awarded the Feinberg School of Medicine Outstanding Teacher Award.

Now she has been selected to participate in the McKinsey Women’s Leadership Challenge to further develop leadership skills and network with fantastic women in law, public policy, business, and the sciences.
