The Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University seeks a board-certified Clinician Researcher to join the Department as an Associate or Full Professor in the Medical Center Line for the title of Vice Chair of Research.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have board certification in emergency medicine with experience in translational and/or clinical research. The Department has a highly-dedicated faculty, including junior, mid-career, and senior members with a diverse mix of clinical, research and educational interests. The Vice Chair of Research position represents a major leadership appointment in the Department. The individual will report directly to the Department Chair. Of particular interest are candidates who have experience in healthcare innovation and technology development, and those who have experience with varied funding mechanisms. The Vice Chair of Research will be expected to develop and lead research education and mentorship for faculty and residents. In addition to providing excellent care, and teaching house staff and medical students, the new Vice Chair of Research will lead by example by conducting research and procuring funding pursuant to his or her area of expertise.
