Bio

Dr. Yarris is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. She is a graduate of a two-year fellowship in education research, earned a masters degree in clinical research, and has completed over 100 hours of post-graduate training in adult education. She is Residency Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program as well as the Co-Director of the Emergency Medicine Education Scholarship Fellowship. She is Co-Director for Faculty Development for OHSU School of Medicine, and serves on OHSU's Core Entrustable Professional Activities for Entering Residency pilot team. Nationally, she has been a mentor for the CORD at MERC program, and currently is the director of the Education Scholarship Pillar for the CORD Academy for Scholarship in Education. She is deputy editor for the Journal of Graduate Medical Education, decision editor for Academic Emergency Medicine, and has been a guest associate editor for education for Western Journal of Emergency Medicine. Her academic interests include faculty development in education, academic physician wellness, feedback in medical education, and medical education research methods, and top practice-changing literature in pediatric EM. She has extensive experience teaching multidisciplinary learners in a variety of medical settings.
