Dr. Joneigh S. Khaldun is a practicing emergency medicine physician at Henry Ford Hospital and the Chief Medical Executive and Chief Deputy for Health in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).  In those roles, she advises Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer on health-related matters and oversees public health, Medicaid, mental health and aging services in MDHHS.  Prior to that, Dr. Khaldun was the Detroit Health Commissioner, where she oversaw the department’s restructuring and implemented robust programs around lead poisoning, infant mortality, and teen pregnancy prevention.
