Dr. Rebecca Parker is a residency trained, board certified, practicing emergency physician in the Chicagoland area at a Level 2 community Trauma center. Dr. Parker currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and is a candidate for President-elect. She also currently serves as Senior Vice President for Envision Healthcare. Dr. Parker has served in numerous ACEP leadership positions including Chair of the formidable Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee, Editorial Board member for Vital Care and as a member of the Finance Committee. She has also been a leader in the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians, serving as president-elect, secretary/treasurer and Chair of the Educational Meetings Committee. A graduate of Northwestern University, Dr. Parker brings many years of management experience in urban, suburban, government and academic practice including spending two years as core faculty, quality director and E.D. Medical Director for Texas Tech University’s Emergency Medicine Residency program in El Paso Texas where she continues to serve as clinical faculty. Dr. Parker understands the challenges in the private and academic setting. Awards for her work include the American Medical Association's Foundation Leadership Award, Women's Congress Mentor's Award and most recently the Bill B. Smiley Award award, the highest award given by the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians for significant contribution to the field of emergency medicine in the state of Illinois.
