Dr. Teresa Yvonne Smith is originally from Westchester, New York, but now considers herself from Brooklyn. After completing her undergraduate degree at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, she attended NYU School of Medicine, and completed her EM residency at NYU/Bellevue. She did an ultrasound fellowship at SUNY Downstate/ Kings County, where she is currently the Residency Program Director of the largest EM training program in the country. She also completed a Masters in Medical Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Smith serves on several GME committees, and is a Clinical Assistant Dean in the College of Medicine. She received the Dr. Dale Blackstock Award in Teaching and Excellence and the GME Program Director of the Year Award in 2018. She is most known for her resting bitch face.
