Congratulations to Dr. Jessica Rainey for receiving the 2017 EMRA Research Grant!  The Research Grant is awarded to provide research funding to physicians in training (residents or medical students) interested in completing a research project during residency or medical school. The Grant promotes the involvement of emergency medicine trainees in research which supports the specialty of emergency medicine and its training.

Dr. Rainey grew up in Florida and attended the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Currently, she is in her third year of residency in the Stanford/Kaiser Emergency Medicine program. Her primary area of interest and research revolves around physician wellness. She loves learning about ways not just to mitigate burnout, but to help individuals and teams truly thrive in our incredible field. On top of that, she also enjoys wilderness medicine and ultrasound.

The project for which she received the EMRA Research Grant is an evaluation of the relationship between physical activity in training and sense of well-being.

Congrats Dr. Rainey!
