The Champions of Change Program provided mentorship and helped strengthen my advocacy within medicine.
Jaime
The 'Changemaking within the Hospital' and 'Introduction to Curriculum Reform' lectures inspired me to identify gaps in reproductive care and education at my medical school, and to start addressing them now rather than waiting until residency.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with FemInEM. The knowledge I gained prepared me for residency and my future career in emergency medicine.

I really liked how the process of initiating discussions about change was outlined in a step-by-step format that was applicable to medical students. From finding a mentor to help with the process to identifying the appropriate staff in the hospital system to speak with about the proposed change, I feel better equipped to identify a problem and seek out a team to help initiate change.

I feel more confident initiating conversations about reproductive care with faculty and peers

The system feels enormous and change sometimes feels impossible, but I now have the knowledge to start the conversation. I also feel less alone knowing there are so many other women physicians working to make reproductive healthcare safe and accessible for everyone.

This program reaffirmed that I'm on the right career path. I'm usually not an outspoken person, but connecting with professionals and peers who share my passion for reproductive health has given me the confidence to advocate for change.

I loved how initiating change was broken into steps that medical students can actually take. From finding a mentor to identifying the right people to talk to, I feel better equipped to spot a problem and build a team around it.
